After Ukraine’s invasion Vladimir Putin raises nuclear alert status

Vladimir Putin launched today the terrifying prospect of an all-out nuclear war over the Ukraine crisis and uncomprehensibly raised the alert level of his nuclear arsenal to “special combat readiness”. The measure as a very angry reaction just after the US and its G7 decision to apply very strict sanctions virtually cutting off Russia from the international financial system.

Washington reacted calmly to Russia upping the ante with no public announcement of President Biden regarding to Putin’s nuclear alert status. A spokesman from the White House said the Russian alert is part of a pattern of Moscow manufacturing threats to justify aggression.

“We’ve seen him do this time and time again” said spokesperson Jen Psaki told ABC News according to The Times of India; “At no point has Russia been under threat from Nato, has Russia been under threat from Ukraine. This is all a pattern from President Putin and we’re going to stand up to it. We have the ability to defend ourselves, but we also need to call out what we’re seeing here from President Putin”.

Putin’s explanation for raising the nuclear alert status appeared to be what he described as “aggressive statements” from Nato leaders, and “unjustified measures” to cut off Russia from internation affairs, politically and financially speaking. Almost nobody as the courage to spoke of a doomsday scenario.

In the late afternoon Ukraine’s president Zhelvsky informed on Twitter that the country has submitted an application against Russia to the International Court of Justice for “manipulating the notion of gnocide to justify” aggression.
